Everton Stadium
Everton Stadium, known for sponsorship reasons as Hill Dickinson Stadium, is a football stadium in Vauxhall, Liverpool. Since its opening in 2025, it has been the home for Everton F.C.
In 2006, there were talks to build a new stadium in Kirkby.[1] The plan received 59% favourable approval by fans in a ballot held by the team. The proposal would be rejected by the central government.[2]
In 2018, the Bramley-Moore Dock was approved for the site of the new stadium. UNESCO was very unhappy with this and stripped Liverpool of its World Heritage Sites because of the decision.[3]
They first started to build the stadium on 10 August 2021.[4] The stadium has a seating capacity of 52,888.[5]
It was completed in 2025. Three test events with reduced capacity were scheduled so that the stadium could gain the safety certificates and licences needed to host competitive matches. The first was a match between the 18-and-under teams of Everton and Wigan Athletic on 17 February 2025.[6] This was followed by a friendly match on 23 March between Everton's 21-and-under side and a Bolton Wanderers B side.[7] The last was a preseason friendly between Everton and Roma on 9 August.[8]
The first competitive match featured Everton hosting Brighton on 24 August, with Everton winning 2–0.[9]

But it was a day that will be remembered by the 50,837 in attendance as a historic occasion with a near-capacity crowd for the Club's third and final test event for their new home.
