Ezana of Axum was a king in 4th century Ethiopia. Ezana was the son of King Ousanas and was taught by Bishop Frumentius. Ezana ruled a tribe called the Axum but he also conquered a lot of other territory in Ethiopia. At first, Ezana called himself a Son of the Roman war deity Mars but Frumentius managed to talk him into becoming a Christian instead. Ezana is known as the King who brought Christianity to Ethiopia and the Orthodox Church there has him as one of their saints.
