F1 is an American sports action drama movie. It is expected to be released on June 25, 2025 in Worldwide and on June 27, 2025 in the United States and Canada.[1][2] It was directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem.[3] It was made with help from Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
The movie follows Sonny Hayes, an-ex Formula 1 driver who suffers an accident while racing and attempts to get back into racing.[4]
Principal photography for the movie started in Silverstone, United Kingdom on July 8, 2023 and ended on December 8, 2024 in Abu Dhabi.[5][6]
F1 was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures and Apple Original Films on June 27, 2025. The movie received positive reviews from critics. The movie is the highest-grossing auto racing movie of all time.[7] The National Board of Review named it as one of the top ten movies of the year. At the 98th Academy Awards, it earned four nominations, including Best Picture.[8]
