Ferdinand "Fritz" Frithum (2 March 1891– 9 June 1957) was an Austrian international footballer and coach. He played as forward mainly for First Vienna FC.[1]
Career[change | change source]
Ferdinand Frithum started his career with DFC Wien. From 1911 onwards he played for Vienna in the highest league. After the relegation in 1914 he went on to Wiener AC. From 1918 to 1923 he played again for Vienna. He ended his career in 1923.
International career[change | change source]
He played one match for the Austrian national football team versus Hungary on 9 November 1919.
Manager career[change | change source]
He became coach of Vienna in 1926. The time with Frithum from 1926 to 1934 was one of the most successful in the team's history. They won the Austrian Cup in 1929 and 1930, were Austrian champions in 1931 and 1933, and won the Mitropacup in 1931. After his time in Vienna he was coach of FC Metz in France.
