| Object history |
Deutsch: Paul Aeschbacher, Verfasser des Buches «Die Grafen von Nidau», entwarf 1929 das heutige Wappen. Er stützte sich dabei auf das Emblem der Ritter von Aegerten (Egerdon) ab, das in Silber einen aufrechten schwarzen Löwen und darüber einen roten Querbalken zeigt. Die Ritter von Egerdon waren Dienstleute der Grafen von Neuenburg. Das 1336 ausgestorbene Adelsgeschlecht hatte seine Stammburg am Gurten bei Bern und stieg in der Stadt Bern zu hohen Ämtern auf. Eine Verbindung zu unserem Aegerten muss aber angezweifelt werden. Der Wellenbalken in Blau lässt sich als die Zihl interpretieren. Der Entwurf wurde 1944 von der Gemeindeversammlung genehmigt und im gleichen Jahr vom Regierungsrat bestätigt.. |
