For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Ungeheure Ueberschwemmungskatastrophe am chinesischen Jangtse-Strom!

bei welcher über hunderttausend Menschen den Tod fanden und Millionen von Menschen durch Vernichtung der Reisernte vom Hungertode bedroht werden. Die Ueberschwemmung hat die Reisfelder auf einer Strecke von vielen hundert Kilometern vollständig vernichtet und so den Chinesen das Hauptnahrungsmittel geraubt.

Hungernde chinesische Familien werden vom internationalen Roten Kreuz durch Notstandsküchen ernährt.
