Object history
Deutsch: Etwa vom Jahre 1930 an führte die Gemeinde ein monströses Wappen: In Rot ein mit vier roten Ringen belegter silberner Balken, oben und unten beseitet von einem grünen Palmzweig; über dem Schild ein gewappneter silberner Arm, einen silbernen Ölzweig haltend, zu beiden Seiten des Schilds an silbernen Haken eine aus sechs roten Ringen bestehende Kette. Einzig für den Balken liegt eine Erklärung nahe. Es dürfte sich um den österreichischen Bindenschild handeln, da Gosheim von 1351 bis 1805 zu Österreich gehört hatte. Im Jahre 1955 besann man sich auf das alte Vogtgerichtssiegel Gosheims (Abdruck 1773). In den österreichischen Farben tingiert, wurde es zum Gemeindewappen gestaltet, Wappen und Flagge daraufhin am 8. Mai 1957 vom Innenministerium verliehen.
