Object history
Deutsch: Das Schöpfrad symbolisiert die Nutzung der Wasserkraft, die vor allem bei der Herstellung von Wetzsteinen in wasserbetriebenen Schleifmühlen eine wichtige Rolle spielte. Durch den verstärkten Einsatz von Mähmaschinen statt Sensen fand die über Jahrhunderte florierende örtliche Gewinnung und Bearbeitung von Wetzsteinen um 1950 ein Ende. Der Pferderumpf verweist auf das im Gemeindegebiet gelegene, weit über Bayern hinaus bekannte staatliche Haupt- und Landgestüt Schwaiganger, ein Lehr-, Versuchs- und Fachzentrum für Pferdehaltung mit einer langen Tradition in der Pferdezucht. Die Tingierung in den bayerischen Landesfarben Silber und Blau erinnert an die engen Beziehungen der Gemeinde zum Haus Wittelsbach.
