Object history
Deutsch: Das Gemeindewappen verbindet die heraldischen Sinnbilder der Klöster Attel und Rott am Inn und weist auf die engen historischen Beziehungen hin. Die drei blauen Rauten entsprechen dem Abteiwappen des Benediktinerklosters Attel, das in Pfaffing, Farrach und Ebrach reich begütert war. Der Löwe in verwechselten Farben im hinteren Feld kommt seit Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts in der Heraldik der Benediktinerabtei Rott als Stifterwappen vor und erinnert an die Hall- und Pfalzgrafen von Wasserburg. Das Kloster Rott hatte in Pfaffing, Lehen und Steinhart Grundbesitz. In der Tingierung in Silber und Blau kommt auch die beständige Zugehörigkeit zu Bayern zum Ausdruck.
