Object history
Deutsch: Die Königspfalz Salz wird 790 erstmals in einer literarischen Quelle erwähnt. Der Ort, dessen Name sich von den seit alters her bekannten Mineralquellen ableitet, war Mittelpunkt eines ausgedehnten Königsgutsbesitzes. Daran erinnert die Königskrone. Zusammen mit dem Salzforst kam der Ort im Jahr 1000 an das Hochstift Würzburg, das die Voit von Salzburg mit der Wahrung seiner Rechte im Ort beauftragte. Der schwarze Zickzackbalken in Silber ist dem Wappen der Voit von Salzburg entnommen und erinnert an deren Wirken im Ort. Der Wellenbalken symbolisiert die Mineralquellen.
