Object history
Deutsch: Die Ständerung (mehrfache Schrägteilung) und das goldene Balkenkreuz sind aus dem Wappen Orlando di Lassos übernommen. Der berühmte Hofkapellmeister am Hof Herzog Wilhelms V. bewohnte bis zu seinem Tod 1594 das Gut Schöngeising, das ihm der Herzog überlassen hatte. Der geschachte Balken, heraldisches Kennzeichen der Zisterzienser, erinnert an die historische Bedeutung des Klosters Fürstenfeld als Grundherrschaft im Gemeindegebiet. Das Kleeblattkreuz versinnbildlicht das Patrozinium St. Johannes Baptist der Kirche Schöngeising.
