Object history
Deutsch: Der Fisch versinnbildlicht die Lage des bedeutenden Fremdenverkehrsortes am Starnberger See und verweist auf die Seefischerei, den Haupterwerbszweig der Bevölkerung in früherer Zeit. Die Fischer hatten als Naturalabgabe Starnberger Renken an die Herrschaft zu liefern. Der blaue Schrägbalken mit den drei goldenen Sternen entspricht dem Wappen der Münchner Patrizierfamilie Dichtl, die 1480 als Inhaberin des Sitzes Tutzing belegt ist und sich bald Dichtl von Tutzing nannte. Bernhard Dichtl, Pfleger von Starnberg, erhielt 1519 die Hofmarksgerechtigkeit über Tutzing. Im Verlauf des 16. Jahrhunderts wurden auch Ober- und Unterzeismering, Diemendorf und Monatshausen zur Hofmark Tutzing gezogen. Die Dichtl übten die Hofmarksherrschaft bis 1662 aus. Das Wappenrelief über dem Rathauseingang von Tutzing zeigt eine vom offiziellen Wappen abweichende, kleinteiligere Gestaltung. Dabei handelt es sich wohl um einen anlässlich der Rathauseinweihung 1924 gefertigten Entwurf für ein künftiges Wappen.
