Object history
Deutsch: Die Bäume über der Zinnenmauer reden für den Ortsnamen Waldershof. Das Wappen findet sich schon in dem 1463 zusammen mit stadtähnlichen Privilegien durch den Landesherrn, Abt Nikolaus IV. von Waldsassen, verliehenen Siegel im Schild, ebenso in einer Abbildung von 1585. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das Wappen willkürlich abgeändert; in den Siegeln und in der heraldischen Literatur ging man dazu über, in Verkennung der Zinnenmauer drei kleine Bäumchen in hohen Blumentöpfen zu zeigen. 1950 wurde das Wappen durch Marktratsbeschluss richtiggestellt, statt der Laubbäume jedoch mit drei Nadelbäumen. Waldershof führt seit 1963 die Bezeichnung Stadt.
