Object history
Deutsch: Das sechsspeichige Rad, das so genannte Mainzer Rad, sowie die Farben Silber und Rot erinnern an die territoriale Zugehörigkeit zum Kurstaat Mainz bis zum Ende des Alten Reichs 1803. Das Fürststift hatte mit kurzer Unterbrechung seit 1272 auch die Dorfherrschaft inne. Das Zahnrad steht für die lange Tradition der Metall verarbeitenden Betriebe im Gemeindegebiet. Der Brunnen stellt das Wahrzeichen des Ortes dar. Der Marktbrunnen ist erstmals 1611 erwähnt.
