Object history Die Gemeinde Windelsbach besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Burghausen, Cadolzhofen und Windelsbach. Im Gemeindegebiet liegt der Stammsitz der Reichsküchenmeister von Nordenberg, die seit 1144 hier ansässig waren. Ihr Besitz ging 1383 an die Reichsstadt Rothenburg o. d. Tauber. An dieses bedeutende Geschlecht erinnert das Wappen der Familie, der kleine von Silber und Blau geteilte Schild.
