Object history
Deutsch: Der Löwe und der geschachte Balken, der so genannte Zisterzienserbalken, ist dem Wappen des Zisterzienserklosters Bildhausen entnommen, das 1156/58 gegründet und 1803 aufgehoben wurde. Das Kloster besaß das Patronatsrecht der Kirche sowie Güter und Einkünfte in Wollbach. Der Zisterzienserbalken stand zugleich im Wappen des 1592 aufgelösten Zisterzienserinnenklosters Wechterswinkel, das ebenfalls in Wollbach belegt ist. Die Hirschstange ist in geminderter Form dem Wappen der Herren von Brend entnommen, einem Ministerialengeschlecht, das 1156 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wird und 1525 ausgestorben ist. Sie besaßen die Zehntrechte in Wollbach. Die Farben Silber und Rot weisen auf die langwährende Zugehörigkeit zum Territorium des Hochstifts Würzburg hin.
