English: Kalk Bay is a small town situated in Cape Town, South Africa. The small town is known for its fishing industry due to the fact that it is located on the Kalk Bay Harbour. Many Cape Coloured individuals work at the harbour, making their living by selling the fish that they catch. Whilst wondering through Kalk Bay I came across a lady de-scaling the freshly caught fish. She told me she does this all day so that she can support her family with the small amount of money she makes. This is an example of a small community of people making a living in a very simple way with no education needed. The fish that are caught and sold generate income mainly from tourists and locals who appreciate the efforts from these people in making fresh fish available.
