Description
Svenska: Oskarshamns kommunvapen sedan 1987.
Oskarshamns kommunvapen har anor från 1800-talet. När köpingen Döderhultsvik blev stad 1856 fick orten ett nytt namn efter den regerande konungen. Hans monogram infogades då i stadsvapnet. Vapnet framställdes i olika varianter tills det fastställdes 1942. Landskommunerna Döderhult och Misterhult antog under 1950-talet egna vapen. Efter kommunbildningen registrerades vapnet för den nya kommunen år 1974. Oskarhamns kommun består av en fyrstyckad sköld. I det första fältet finns Hans Maj:t Konung Oskar I:s monogram i guld. I det andra fältet finns ett blått ankare mot en gyllene bakgrund. Motstående fält har en blå merkuriestav mot en en gyllene bakgrund. I det sista fältet finns ett ymnighetshorn i guld mot en blå bakgrund. Merkuriestaven är en gammal symbol för handel och ymnighetshornet symboliserar välstånd. Ett ymnighetshorn kan aldrig bli tomt!
