Summary

Description
English: The green background represents Palouse's rural and natural surroundings.

The blue cord represents the Palouse River. The gold cord represents grain, or agricultural production in general, and commerce.

The knot represents the city. It is a figure-eight follow-through, which is a very strong knot, and represents the strength of the community. Being composed of two different color cords, the knot represents people of different backgrounds and with different ideas coming together to create something that is stronger than the individual.
