Summary

Description
English: A Royal Australian Air Force C-17 Globemaster returned to Tonga on Thursday afternoon bringing further humanitarian supplies for communities and families in need following #CycloneGita.

The flight delivered hundreds of shelter, kitchen and hygiene kits, 360 mosquito nets and 1000 solar powered lanterns with USB chargers among other stores.

These essential supplies will assist families while they recover from the loss of homes, reduce the risk of mosquito borne illnesses and help families recharge their phones to communicate with emergency services and loved ones.

Deputy Prime Minister Semisi Sika and Director of the National Emergency Management Office Leveni Aho accompanied Australian High Commissioner Andrew Ford to receive the supplies on behalf of the Tongan government.
