| Description |
This time to Shirley Station, caught the 49 bus from the Stratford Road down Haslucks Green Road. Only came here so I could walk a section of the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal nearby. Shirley railway station serves Shirley area of Solihull in the West Midlands of England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by London Midland. The station was built in 1908, complete with small goods yard with goods shed. However, this has since been removed (though a siding still exists) and the site taken over by E H Smith. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley_station Rail around Birmingham - Shirley Used to be a gate here to the platforms, but it is supposed to be locked. A London Midland Class 172 train pulls up at Shirley Station. Didn't have time to get it from the road bridge above (by the time I got up there). |
