The flag of Montserrat was first used after the West Indies Federation was taken apart in 1958.

The flag is made of a British blue ensign with the coat of arms of Montserrat. They include Erin holding a harp which stands for Montserrat's history of Irish settlers and holding a cross to mean the island's Christian history.[1]
