Francisco José Pereira Pinto Balsemão (Portuguese pronunciation: [fɾɐ̃ˈsiʃku ˈpĩtu baɫsɨˈmɐ̃w̃]; 1 September 1937 – 21 October 2025), was a Portuguese businessman, journalist and politician. He served as Prime Minister of Portugal, from 1981 to 1983.
Pinto Balsemao died on 21 October 2025 in Cascais, Portugal at the age of 88.[1]
