Frank Morgan (June 1, 1890 – September 18, 1949) was an American actor. He was born in New York City. His real name was Francis Phillip Wuppermann. He attended Cornell University. His brother was in show business so Frank wanted to be in show business, too. Frank's first movie was The Suspect in 1916. He made many other movies. His last movie was Key to the City, which was released in 1950. Morgan usually played mixed up but good hearted gentlemen in the movies. He is famous for playing the Wizard of Oz in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland and Margaret Hamilton. Morgan was married and had one son. He died of a heart attack on September 18, 1949. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1708 Vine Street.
