Frankenstein is an upcoming American gothic science fiction horror movie. It is expected to be released in November 2025.[1] It was directed by Guillermo del Toro. He also wrote and co-produced the movie with Gary Ungar, Scott Stuber, and J. Miles Dale.[2]

The movie is based on the 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus by English author Mary Shelley and is expected to follow most of the novel's story. It follows scientist Victor Frankenstein as he creates a monster from a dead corpse.[3]

Principal photography began on February 12, 2024 in Toronto and finished on September 30.[4][5]
