Fulani ecotype chickens is a type of domestic chicken reared by Fulani people. They are good egg layers with high quality meat.[1] These chickens are not easily attacked by diseases and tend to live longer. [2]

Fulani ecotype chickens is heavier and rich in meat quality. It carries a dominant feather gene. A research suggested that the chickens's adaptive feather genes will soon dye out and need to be preserved.[3] Male Fulani ecotype chickens have large comb and wattle size. They have varied plumage colours with a feather that is suitable for the tropical climate in Nigeria.[4]
