Gary Brooker, MBE (29 May 1945 – 19 February 2022) was an English singer-songwriter and pianist. He was the founder and lead singer of the rock band Procol Harum. His genres included hard rock, progressive rock and jazz. His career began in 1962. Brooker was born in London, England.

In June 2003, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).[1]

Brooker died from cancer at his London home on 19 February 2022, at the age of 76.[2][3]
