Gela Charkviani

Gela Charkviani (Georgian: გელა ჩარკვიანი; 1 March 1939 – 9 November 2021) was a Georgian politician, writer, educator and television news anchor. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. Between 2006 and 2011, he was the Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland. From 1976 to 1994 he anchored the Georgian TV's monthly Globe program. He was a presidential foreign advisor to Eduard Shevardnadze.

Charkviani died on 9 November 2021 at the age of 82 in Tbilisi.[1]
