George Henry Raveling (June 27, 1937 – September 1, 2025) was an American college basketball player and coach. He played at Villanova University. He was the head coach at Washington State University (1972–1983), the University of Iowa (1983–1986), and the University of Southern California (1986–1994).
Raveling was Nike's global basketball sports marketing director from 1994 until his death in 2025.[2] He was a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.[3] He was known for getting Michael Jordan to partner with Nike.[4]
Raveling died on September 1, 2025 from cancer at the age of 88.[4]
