Gjergj Xhuvani

Gjergj Xhuvani (20 December 1963[1] – 14 August 2019) was an Albanian movie director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born in Tirana, Albania. His 2001 movie Slogans was Albania's submission to the 74th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted[2][3] His 2009 movie East, West, East: The Final Sprint was selected as the Albanian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards,[4] but it didn't make the shortlist.[5]

Xhuvani died of a possible heart attack on 14 August 2019 in Rome, Italy at the age of 55.[6]
