Plot
[change | change source]Right off the heels of God of War (2005), Kratos is now the God of War, and now has the Blades of Athena, a replacement of his previous weapons, the Blades of Chaos. However, the peace he had was cut short when an eagle (later revealed to be Zeus) electrifies the Colossus of Rhodes, causing it to come to life. Kratos beats the now-deceased former statue, and comes in contact with Zeus. Zeus manipulates Kratos into transferring his godhood and the powers he earned with it into the Blade of Olympus, and betrays him by stabbing him in the chest. He dies, and is found by the Titan Gaia. He comes back to life, and, to prevent the betrayal from happening, must beat the Sisters of Fate to revert time. After completing all of his tasks, he prevents Zeus from killing him, and mortally wounds him. However, Athena sacrifices herself, and admits that Zeus is Kratos' father. The game ends with Kratos yelling out "Zeus! Your son has returned. I bring the destruction of Olympus!"
