Gollapudi Maruti Rao (14 April 1939 – 12 December 2019) was an Indian actor and screenwriter. He was born in Vizianagaram, British India (present day Andhra Pradesh). He was known for his roles in Samsaram Oka Chadarangam, Yamudiki Mogudu and Aditya 369. He also wrote many plays such as: Rendu Rellu Aaru, Patita, Karuninchani Devatalu, Mahanatudu, Kaalam Venakku Tirigindi and in Aasayaalaku Sankellu.

Rao died at a private hospital in Chennai, India on 12 December 2019 from an illness, aged 80.[1]
