German original English translation[2]

I
Gott segne Sachsenland,
wo fest die Treue stand
in Sturm und Nacht!
Ew’ge Gerechtigkeit,
hoch überm Meer der Zeit,
die jedem Sturm gebeut,
schütz uns mit Macht!

II
Blühe, du Rautenkranz
in schöner Tage Glanz
freudig empor!
Heil, Friedrich August, Dir,
heil, guter König, Dir.
Dir, Vater, preisen wir
liebend im Chor!

III
Was treue Herzen flehn,
steigt zu des Himmels Höh’n
aus Nacht zum Licht.
Der unsre Liebe sah,
der unsre Tränen sah,
er ist uns hilfreich nah,
verlässt uns nicht.

I
God save Saxony,
Where royalty stands firmly
In storm and night!
Justice is forever,
High above the sea of time,
Which leads to every storm,
With might, protect us!

II
Bloom, charming diamond wreath
Gleaming in days of beauty.
Pleasure rises!
Hail to thee, Frederick August!
Hail to thee, our gracious King!
Thy Father, praise to thee
Novel in the choir!

III
What loyal heart begs for
Climb to ecstasy's heights
From night until light.
Who dear saw our lust
And yet saw our tears,
Is graciously close to us,
Leave us? Will not.
