The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is the provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Until 1949, Newfoundland was a separate Dominion in the British Empire. With the Newfoundland Act, Newfoundland became a Canadian province.

The legislature of Newfoundland and Labrador has two parts: the Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and the General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador. The General Assembly is a unicameral body with 48 members. The party with the most members in the assembly elect the Premier, who is the head of the cabinet. The head of the second largest party in the assembly is the Leader of the Opposition.
