Grand Island, New York

Grand Island is a town and an island in Erie County, New York. As of the 2020 census, the town population is 21,389. The town was once nominated to be the headquarters for the United Nations, but lost to New York City.

The town was founded in 1651 and became part of the British Colony of New York in 1764. It became a town in 1852.
