Harald zur Hausen (born 11 March 1936 in Gelsenkirchen) is a German virologist and professor emeritus.[1] He won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2008 for his discoveries on the role of papilloma viruses which he shared with Luc Montagnier and Françoise Barré-Sinoussi.
