Harold Abrahams

Harold Maurice Abrahams, CBE (15 December 1899 – 14 January 1978)[1] was an English track and field athlete. He was Olympic champion in 1924 in the 100 metres sprint. His victory at the 1924 Olympics is shown in the 1981 movie Chariots of Fire where he is played by Ben Cross. Abrahams was born in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

Abrahams died on 14 January 1978 in London at the age of 78.
