Heartbreaker (song)

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Heartbreaker" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey. The song was released on September 21, 1999 in North America as the lead single to her seventh studio album Rainbow (1999).[1] The song samples the 1982 R&B song "Attack of the Name Game" under Stacy Lattisaw. "Heartbreaker" is about a relationship from a female perspective; the protagonist returns to her lover. But her lover constantly cheats on her.

"Heartbreaker" received mixed music reviews from critics. A number of critics felt the song wasn't original in terms of a creative step forward. However, it hit #1 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Singles Chart.

In the video, Carey played two women: herself and a woman named Bianca. There was a physical fight between these two women in a movie theater.
