Helen Yate

Helen Marie Yate (1 January 1921 – 11 August 2020) was a British swimmer. She competed in the women's 100 metre backstroke at the 1948 Summer Olympics.[1] She represented England and won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the 1950 British Empire Games.[2][3] She was born in Plymouth, Devon.

Yate died on 11 August 2020 at a nursing home in Plymouth at the age of 99.[4]
