Hispania Tarraconensis was one of three Roman provinces in Hispania. It covered much of what is now northern, eastern, and central Spain, as well as northern Portugal. Southern Spain, now known as Andalusia, was part of the province of Hispania Baetica. To the west, along the Atlantic coast, was the province of Lusitania, which included part of modern-day Portugal.
