The home secretary in the United Kingdom is an important minister of the British Government. Since 24 July 2019, the office has been held by Priti Patel. She is responsible for immigration, the police and other matters relating to the safety of the United Kingdom.
The shadow home secretary is Nick Thomas-Symonds, MP for Torfaen.
