The Original iPhone was the first phone made by Apple, Inc. It was announced in January 9, 2007, and released in June 29, 2007. It changed the mobile phone industry, being the first phone to include a capacitive Multi-touch display. It succeeded the Newton line of touch screen phones by Apple Computer, Inc.

Compared to other phones at the time, the iPhone had a much larger screen and removed most of the buttons, leaving only a home button to take you to the home screen.[source?]
