Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta

Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta (29 January 1945 – 16 January 2022), or as he is often known, IBK, was a Malian politician. He was the President of Mali from 2013 to 2020. He was the Prime Minister of Mali from 1994 to 2000. He was he President of the National Assembly of Mali from 2002[1][2] to 2007.[3]

In August 2020, he was taken hostage by a military coup and later resigned.[4][5]

Keïta died on 16 January 2022 at his home in Bamako, Mali at the age of 76.[6]
