Ibrahim Shah Suri was King of Hindustan from January 1555 until his defeat in February 1555. He came to power after rebelling against Adil Shah and so became Sultan (king) but later he was defeated by Sikandar Shah Suri who then became Sultan.

Ibrahim Shah Suri was the governor of Agra in 1555, when he rebelled against the sultan. Adil Shah sent his army to stop the revolt, but Ibrahim defeated Adil's army and marched towards Delhi. After capturing Delhi, he became Sultan Ibrahim Shah Suri in January 1555. But in the next month (February 1555), Sikandar Shah Suri defeated him at Farah, 32 km from Agra even though Ibrahim's army had more men then him. Sikandar took over both Delhi and Agra.[1]

After losing Delhi and Agra, Ibrahim began then fought with Adil Shah. But he was defeated by Adil's army led by his advisor Hemu twice, first near Kalpi and next near Khanua. He escaped to the fort of Bayana, but then Hemu's army arrived and he was in danger. However he was safe for a while when Hemu returned to help Adil Shah. Later, Ibrahim made a hill fort in the Nurpur kingdom and then attacked Mughals in Gurdaspur but in the end the Mughals were too powerful and he fled.[1]
