"If You Were Still Around" is a song by Welsh musician and composer John Cale. It was co-written by John Cale and playwright Sam Shepard.[1] It was originally released in 1982 on Music for a New Society album.[2][3] The new version of the song was released in 2014 together with music video directed by Abigail Portner.[4] The video was dedicated to Lou Reed who died one year before.[5][6]
