Iga Świątek

Iga Natalia Świątek (born 31 May 2001) is a Polish professional tennis player. She has a career-high Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking of No. 1 in the world and has held the top spot for 125 weeks.[1] Świątek is a six-time Grand Slam singles champion, winning the French Open in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024, the US Open in 2022, and Wimbledon in 2025.[2] She also won the WTA Finals in 2023 and earned a bronze medal in singles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.[3][4]
With her French Open victory in 2020, she became the first Polish Grand Slam singles champion in history, the youngest singles champion at the tournament since Rafael Nadal in 2005, and the youngest women's singles champion since Monica Seles in 1992.[5] She is regarded as one of the most dominant players of her era, having achieved a 37-match winning streak and completing the rare "Sunshine Double" (winning both Indian Wells and Miami Open in 2022).[6][7]
Świątek was born in Warsaw. Her father, Tomasz, was an Olympic rower.[8]
