Ischia is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The island is at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, about 30 kilometres (19 miles) from Naples. It is the largest of the Phlegrean Islands.

The island is famous for its thermal waters, Mediterranean cuisine, exclusive hotels, and shopping. It is divided into six municipalities: Ischia Porto, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Serrara Fontana, and Barano.

Thanks to its healing thermal baths, Ischia has been a popular tourist destination since ancient times. Today, special mention goes to the village of Lacco Ameno, home to most of the island’s five-star luxury hotels, attracting VIPs and celebrities
