[change | change source]Isle of beauty, isle of splendour,
Isle to all so sweet and fair,
All must surely gaze in wonder
At thy gifts so rich and rare.
Rivers, valleys, hills and mountains,
All these gifts we do extol.
Healthy land, so like all fountains,
Giving cheer that warms the soul.
Dominica, God hath blest thee
With a clime benign and bright,
Pastures green and flowers of beauty
Filling all with pure delight,
And a people strong and healthy,
Full of godly reverent fear.
May we ever seek to praise Thee
For these gifts so rich and rare.
Come ye forward, sons and daughters
Of this gem beyond compare.
Strive for honour, sons and daughters,
Do the right, be firm, be fair.
Toil with hearts and hands and voices.
We must prosper! Sound the call,
In which everyone rejoices,
"All for Each and Each for All."
Dominican Creole French version
[change | change source]Ile bèl, ile splendeur,
Ile ki swe, ki bèl,
Tout moun ka gade ak zèv,
Nan kado ou, sa se bèl.
Riviè, vale, mòn ak chén,
Tout sa yo nou ap chanté.
Tè sante, tankou sous,
Bay chalè ki ka leve.
Dominica, Bondye beni,
Avèk move tan sa bèl,
Pâtur vèt ak flè bèl,
Tout moun jwenn tout sa yo chèl.
Epi yon pèp fò ak sante,
Ki gen referans pou Bondye.
Nou dwe toujou fè lwanj ou,
Pou kado sa yo ki bèl.
Vini avè m, pitit peyi,
Nan ti gem sa ki inik.
Fè pou onè, pitit peyi,
Fè sa ki dwat, fè sa klè.
Travay ak kè, men, ak vwa,
Nou dwe pwospere! Se pou sa,
Nan sa tout moun ka kontan,
“Nou tout pou Yonn, Yonn pou Nou.”
