Ivan Aleksandrovich Bukavshin (Russian: Иван Александрович Букавшин; 3 May 1995 – 12 January 2016) was a Russian chess Grandmaster. He won the Russian Cup in 2015. He became Grandmaster in 2011. He was U12 European champion in 2006, U14 European Youth Champion in 2008 and U16 European champion in 2010. He was born in Rostov-on-Don.

Bukavshin died in Tolyatti on 12 January 2016. He was originally thought to have suffered a stroke.[1] Now it is reported that a massive overdose (or poisoning) of Drotaverine caused his death.[2] It is possible that the reports are consistent, because the overdose might have caused the stroke.
