James D. Heiple

James D. Heiple (September 13, 1933 – January 18, 2021) was an American lawyer and Republican politician. He was elected as a Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court in 1990. He was its chief justice from 1997 until his retirement 2000.[1] Heiple was born in Peoria, Illinois.

Heiple died on January 18, 2021 at a hospital in Peoria from a cerebral hemorrhage, aged 87.[2]
